Theology and Doctrine is simply a systematic study of the themes, truths and concepts of scripture showing their definition, context and practical meaning. In other words theology is the study of God from the Bible and the Bible applied to church History and life. It does not change scripture, but helps us understand it. It does not add to scripture, but shows the power of its meaning in simplicity and life changing truth. It protects from error and confirms truth. It is rightly dividing the word of God in light of the study of honest men know both know God and study in an unbiased way. There are differences, but no study of scripture should include willful deceit based bias and we should be open to being wrong while finding the roots of truth to stand on that have been handed down since the Apostles and that are still there for all to see in scripture.
