Description
A Whisker of a Tale - Jennifer Rene Daniel
‘A Whisker of a tale’ is a delightful coffee table book, which includes whimsical humour, poignant pictures and heart-searching lines under delightful character sketches of mice. Every page gently pokes fun at life! Adults are confronted with themselves and acquaintances, as they gaze at each picture. Children will be amused and encouraged as they recognize their unnecessary fears and everyday escapades. What makes this book unique?. It highlights every aspect of life with a tender and probing touch. The paintings seem to jump off the page and ‘scurry’ the reader down memory lane. Each of the 74 pictures taken from the paintings are uniquely different. The rough manuscripts have been pored over by adults and children, ‘referred back to’ repeatedly. The book can be marketed for adults and children. It would be an ideal gift for any season or occasion. The words used to describe the characters and the matching lines – are so essentially South African in flavor. What other books would be similar in nature? Any coffee table book that would arrest a fleeting interest as well as absorbed interest. Every page is pleasing to the eye. The lines are very readable but have a depth of hidden meaning for the discerning eye. They would therefore be similar to any coffee table book that would enjoy short leisure time reading as well as in depth appreciation. The illustrator and authoress – Jennifer René Daniel. Each of the 74 paintings are copies of her original watercolors. The text is hers as well. Jennifer (Jenny) has amused family and friends across the world down the years with her mice sketches added to letters and cards, who have encouraged her in producing the above manuscripts. She has written three poetry books (in English and Afrikaans) as well as a book with the emphasis on encouragement (poetry and prose). She has also had poetry both for children and adults included in publications overseas from 2003 onwards.
